About the Chinese Zodiac
The Chinese zodiac cycles through 12 animals every 12 years. Your animal is determined by your year of birth (according to the lunar calendar, which begins in late January or February). Each animal also has a 5-element modifier (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, Earth) that cycles every 2 years.
Note: If you were born in January or early February, your Chinese zodiac year may differ from your Gregorian calendar year.
